The 4th of July is rich with traditional celebrations and we would be pleased if you were our guest for our Independence Day Celebration here at the winery.  You could stop by and enjoy Chappell 's  4th of July Parade then come by and pick up your free Hot dogs and watermelon eat, relax & catch up on all the news then on to Independence to join in the fun of the afternoon parade beginning at 4 p.m. in Independence.   After that to top off a wonderful day stay and watch the fireworks at Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Park!

Of the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence:

5 signers were captured by the British as traitors, & tortured before they died.

12 had their homes ransacked & burned

9 fought & died

2 lost their sons serving in the war another had 2 sons captured.

What kind of men were they? People just like you & me!
